Elizabeth Anne Moore, teacher at Trevor Browne, became feed up when a 15 year-old student continued to disrupt the class and verbally assault her. Her initial report about his misconduct went nowhere. The second time led to his expulsion and a court order that prevents him from being near hear. To further protect Ms. Moore, the judge ordered that she be given a special 911 telephone. His parents said they were powerless in preventing his lewd and disruptive behavior. Elizabeth did the right thing and for that we recommend a nice bench from the Mayor’s office. He reads the column regularly. Doesn’t everyone?
District 4 Councilman is another loyal reader. Saturday night he walked with members of N.A.I.L.E.M and Maryvale residents. The march began at 41st Avenue and Virginia and proceeded around the neighborhood for about an hour. None of the marchers possessed “American Idol” quality talent but they chanted anyway. The chanting scared some residents out of their home but no one became violent. Fortunately for Mr. Simplot and his marching comrades; a well-armed police escort was near and ready for anything. News Channel 12 filmed the beginning of the event but didn’t hang around to listen to the lusty chanting. The group plans to meet at the same location this weekend and repeat the exercise. Power of literary Politics
Sunday I took a quick peek at the New York Times Best Selling Book list and discovered that seven of the books on the top ten lest were from the political genre. Age and retardation, just kidding, has stopped me from remembering everyone on the list but comedian Al Franken, Senator Hillary Clinton, and Talk Show Host Bill O’reilly are on the popular shelf with their offerings Arizona’s Senior U.S. Senator John McCain may join them with his latest rendering and Kevin Phillips has a new offering that won’t bode well with the Bush Administration. Phillips, a devout Republican, is very hard in his assessment of the president and his book will find its’ way off the book shelf, in quick fashion.
