Home Boy Ramon was the prohibitive favorite and was expected to outpoint his 26 year old opponent in the scheduled ten rounder.

Early in the 7th round, Mckellip stunned Olivas with a right hand shot to the temple and followed the table setting blow with a finalizing left hook that ended the contest. After the bout, a confident Ian McKellip told Monitor Hispano that he loves Arizona and would like to return to the Arena in March He feels at home here because his wife is from Tucson. Based on his performance Thursday night, Ian is due for a big payday ; very soon.
